Well what can I say about this guy, he's also a bit of a trouble maker. Just tried to really loosen up on this one, as a result It ended up kind of muddy. I've still got a lot to figure out with painting, this fella is just something to help me along the way. Oil on canvas for those interested.
You like that ear? that's cool because I didn't really get to finish it so it's kind of a different color than everything else. It's funny because ears are my favorite part of a persons face to draw or paint, there are so many little nooks and crannies to get lost in. Thank you also for the nice comments.
Yeah there pretty fun. I think that there the most challenging for me. I got to listen to this awesome artist Robert hunt speak the other day and something that he said really stuck with me, it was basically that every piece you do is sort of practice for the next one. What's cool about thinking that way about your art is that you don't get to attached and that frees you up to really just go after your work fearlessly.
Yeah, cool I'll see what I can do. I'm about to start a self portrait tonight so I'm just going to see what happens and really just try and go for it. I"m glad you like it. I think you mean African American, I'll stay African American.
